Rollover Crashes are Often Deadly
A young woman from Upland tragically did not survive a rollover crash in early September. Authorities said that her vehicle left the road and rolled over into a ditch. As the driver, she was ejected and the vehicle reportedly landed on top of her. The passenger in the car suffered minor injuries. Police officers did not disclose a known cause of the crash.
Unfortunately, rollover crashes often result in fatalities. If you lost a loved one in a rollover accident – or any type of accident – you should discuss your options with a wrongful death lawyer in Upland right away.
Common Causes of Rollovers
Vehicles can roll over for many different reasons. First, some vehicles are simply more prone to rollovers due to having a narrow wheelbase and a higher center of gravity. These include buses, semi-trucks, 15-passenger vans, SUVs, Jeeps, and more. That being said, any type of car can roll over under the right circumstances.
Some causes of this type of crash include:
- Hitting a curb or obstacle that “trips” the vehicle
- Taking a turn or curve too fast
- Getting run off the road by another driver
- Getting hit by another vehicle
- Tread separation of a tire
Even in the event of a one-car crash, someone else may still be liable for the rollover accident. Such parties may include other drivers, manufacturers of defective tires, road crews that left items in the roadway, and more.
